Came back frm obs on friday.. Now i really look like an Indian.. Dark like crazy.. Haha! Anyway
Day 1
Went to school to catch the coach. Funny. Whole school no flag-raising. That's not something that happens everyday. Haha. Waited in the mild morning sun for half an hour before the bus came. Took us to Punggol jetty. Waited there for so long. And it was hot. No shade! Arrived in camp (Was in mobile, btw). Briefing, and met my instructor Melissa. Nice gal, bout 25. University fresh-grad. Wanna know what my watch (group) was called? Nila Utama. WTH. Ew. So gay. Anyway we got our rations for the next 5 days. Biscuits, bread and other dried stuff.. Ew. Still dunno how I survived on such crap for so long. Haha! Play human-entanglement =) Did some kayaking. Pitch tent, cook dinner then went to sleep. Tried sleeping on the parade square. They didnt switch on the floodlights so i was quite invisible in the dark. But clever me just had to stand up for no reason and get caught.. Oh well. Haha. Mosquito coil proved its worth for the first time. Stars were great.
Day 2
Had some climbing lessons called "belaying". A belayer is a person who holds the other end of the rope ya attached to, so if you fall, we dont have to scrape your insides off with a butter knife if somehow you fall.. Haha. HOT. After that packed our stuff and trekked to a new campsite. This one really sucked. The ground was full of rocks and stones.. Couldnt drive the tent pegs into the ground.. They ended up looking like fishing-hooks. The 'toilet' was in the bushes, and there were loads of huge red ants in there. No way am i goin to pee in there, baby. No place to bathe. Went to sleep stinking and sweaty. Disgusting. Mosquito coil proved its worth again. Stars were excellent.
Day 3
Was made watch IC today.. Dunno why the all thought i was capable of leadin them. Anyways. Woke up and trekked to yet another campsite. Had rock climbing, and after lunch somemore high elements activities. Cooking area for dinner was beside the beach. Damn nice. Saw the sun set. Wow. Haha. Had a briefing on the sea expedition for the next day. Instructor made it sound so dangerous, but actually it wasnt. Gonna paddle round Ubin. Stars rocked.
Day 4
Woah. This day totally totally rocked my socks off. Sea expedition. Paired up with another string orch guy. At first we were so loserfied, keep on turning round in circles. But when we got the hang of it, WOW. We were damn fast lor! Rocked the world man. Haha. Can even overtake trackers in the throwing events. Si bei zai. Haha! =D We started off late cuz of lightning risk, but we finised the trip early lor! Really zai. And plus, nobody capsized. Song boh. Heh. This is where i got sunburnt. And after that my arms were like jelly. Couldnt even hold up the mess tin properly during dinner. Left arm was really bad. Haha. But it was really fun la. Had the first satisfying dinner. Instant noodles and some curry chicken. But it was passable la. Haha. Did cleaning up. Washed bags, mess tins and other equipment. Stock check. Lost a lotta stuff.. Terence, you gotta buck up k? Think bout yourself and never give up. You can never tell the worth of a man. Get ur dignity back! Stars were superb.
Day 5
Got up and immediately screamed at my watch members to "bloody wake up". The faster we packed up, the sooner we got to go. Washed our tents, did another stock check. Found back many items that we supposed we lost. Heng ah. The lost items bill ended up pretty small. Each person only had to pay 70cents. Washed one of the toilets. Disgusting. There was literal shit on the floor.. But we managed to do it. Debriefing. Got back our surrendered items (wallets, handphone etc.). Took boat back to Punggol jetty. No transport provided by the scool frm there k! Wth.. Great plannig, huh. >=( Took bus 82 to Punggol MRT station, took MRT to Newton, then took 171 home. Came back to find the house empty. Waited an hour before my mom came. Haiz.
Overall it was quite fun la. Pretty screwed up at times but still can. Haha!
Look at the stars at nite,
Cuz i'll b lookin at e same ones 2.
